The concept of 'Dutching' explained
A simple method of spreading risk within an investment
There are plenty of places on the internet where they will describe 'Dutching' as:
"the term for a method of betting where you share the risk of losing across a number or runners by backing more than one selection in a race or event. The process calculates the correct stake to win on each selection so that the return is the same if any of them wins.
The strategy can pay dividends when gamblers successfully reduce the potential winners of an event to a select few from the field or when information about runners not expected to perform well does not reach the market (so as to affect the odds) making backing the rest of the field profitable."
However, we adopt a straightforward method to our calculations through use of our speed ratings. We rate a number of races each day and only when a certain set of factors are in our favour, provide the dutching information.
We usually select three horses per race, on the odd occasion where the percentages allow, four horses.
We also take this a step further by providing the suggested prices and bet stake (to £100 net stakes) for the dutch. You are also provided with a dutching calculator to determine how your dutch will pay at the current exchange prices.
