Welcome to a British code of racing like no other

Why the All-Weather?

The Sandform service has always only concentrated on the all-weather scene.  The reason we do this is because the all-weather racing in Britain lends itself to speed ratings - because of the surfaces and the layout of the tracks.

There are five all-weather tracks - Wolverhampton, Southwell and Lingfield, Kempton and Great Leighs.  Each of the tracks have approximately 65 meetings a year, and each course has its nuances, and therefore track specialists occur - and therefore betting value.

In deciding whether to back a horse on the all-weather, consider this - would you prefer to invest in a horse which is known to act on a surface which is always consistent, within a tolerance of goings which are measurable, or would you rather back a horse which is running on a turf course, with undulations, hills, running right-handed one day and then left handed the next.  Many turf courses only have 14 meetings a year, so the chances of finding any relevant and recent course form are remote.

The all-weather provides a level of consistency of environmental conditions which can change, but are measurable. Horses can be identified that prefer not only an all-weather course, but also the sand type - but few backers even bother to take these sorts of effects into account when betting on the all-weather - so value is available to those who have the clearer information.

Just as important, the volume of racing on the all-weather means that the form student has a statistically sound archive of course and distance form to analyse.

'The concept of the Sandform service is to find the value in a race, not from a single speed figure, but from a range of information unavailable anywhere else - which gives you a competitive edge on other backers and layers'
